Road Trip USA!

RoadTrip USA! is a week long, camp curriculum written by Sheryl Welles that celebrates the diverse music and composers of the United States. Each day campers “travel” throughout America discovering various styles of music, listening to the music of gifted composers and learning/reviewing music fundamentals.

Starting with the nation’s capitol, campers celebrate the marching band and the history of the national anthem. From there, they travel to New Orleans where they learn about swing music and the Big Band era.

After that, it’s on to the Wild West to celebrate folk songs and Aaron Copland’s “Rodeo”. We also can’t forget New York City where show tunes abound or Hawaii where we listen to the beautiful ukulele music of IZ. There is also a road trip theme that runs throughout the week reminding campers to fill up on gas, change a flat tire, and to journal about their trip.

The Sisters will be basing the summer "Road Trip" camp off this themed curriculum (above) as well as :

-studying character qualities
-memorizing Scripture
-singing songs together
